Shovelheat

The official painting of the 75th Laconia Motorcycle Week Laconia is the oldest motorcycle happening in the country and 1988 celebrated the 75th anniversary of this famous New Hampshire event. In this work, the official painting, I wanted to capture the elements of Laconia that made an impression on me. Included in the piece are a 1975 shovelhead, the annual fireworks display and the historic Weirs Beach sign. Closer inspection reveals the 75th Laconia patch on the leathers and the famous NASWA resort logo.
